The Power of a Giving Circle
By joining or renewing your membership to the Women’s Fund, you become part of an important circle of women, who through their time and treasures, make an incredible difference in the lives of Hancock County women and their families. Your donation, combined with those of your friends, become a powerful agent for change.
Who can become a member of the Women’s Fund of Hancock County?
You can! Any woman or girl over the age of 16 who supports the mission of the Women’s Fund and makes an annual financial commitment qualifies as a member. Girls under 16 may be sponsored by an adult member. Membership is a one year term and runs May 1 – April 30. Rewards of membership include:
- An active role in serving your community
- A voice in determining grant initiatives
- Access to volunteer opportunities with other women and girls in your community
- An innovative way to strengthen causes and organizations that are important to Hancock County women and girls
What is the membership commitment?
Women and girls from across the county make an annual financial commitment to the fund in any amount meaningful to them. Each tax-deductible gift is divided equally between the Women’s Endowment Fund and the Women’s Annual Grant Fund. The impact of your contribution is immediate: if, for example, the Women’s Fund receives $1,000 in combined donations, $500 is available for grantmaking and $500 will be placed in the endowment fund, allowing you to help create a legacy of solutions!

Can men join the Women’s Fund?
While the Women’s Fund was created as a giving circle for women and girls, men who support our mission may also contribute! We invite med to make a gift to the Women’s Fund in honor or memory of a special woman in their life.
HCCF Board Chair, Bob Bogigian, makes a yearly membership contribution in honor of his wife, Ellen. As a husband and father to three daughters, he sees the importance of supporting women’s issues. It is as easy as sending a gift once a year to renew Ellen’s WF membership.
