Don Rickett Scholarship Endowment
Mr. Rickett is a quirky teacher who taught English at Greenfield-Central High School. He was the kind of person who gives out “tough love” to his students, equipping them to learn how to truly write. His investment in kids has truly helped many, benefitting their future to help them in the skills needed for life. Now retired from the high school, he teaches classes for Vincennes University at Hancock County Public Library. This scholarship, named in honor of former Greenfield-Central High School teacher Don Rickett, will be awarded to a graduating senior from Greenfield-Central High School who will attend a post-secondary institution in pursuit of trade or technical certification or an associate’s degree.
Applicants must be graduating seniors of Greenfield-Central High School, plan to continue their education at a post-secondary institution in pursuit of a certification or an associate’s degree, have no less than a “C” average, and have completed the Technical Communications course with no less than a “C” average. The primary criterion for selection will be based on financial need.
