The Hancock County Community Foundation and the Rotary Club of Greenfield recently awarded First Steps Mission a $1,000 grant. HCCF matched dollar for dollar the money raised by the Rotary Club of Greenfield at their Steak‘n Bake’n Raffle last fall. Indiana’s First Steps System is a family-centered, locally-based, coordinated program that provides early intervention services to infants and young children with disabilities or who are developmentally vulnerable. First Steps brings together families and professionals from education, health and social service agencies. By coordinating locally available services, First Steps is working to give Hancock County’s children and their families the widest possible array of early intervention resources.
The grant dollars awarded will help fund programming services for First Steps Mission by providing assistance for children ages birth to three years, who are experiencing developmental delays and/or have a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of resulting in developmental delay. This program is essential to our community because our children are our future.
HCCF works with caring individuals, families, and organizations to create or grow existing permanent funds called endowments. These funds generate income that is distributed in the form of grants and scholarships to enrich and enhance life in Hancock County, as well as support the donor’s favorite charitable causes, both at home and afar forever. HCCF has granted over $8.7 million since its inception in 1992.
