George and Icy Vaughn were Hancock County residents who loved the arts. They lived on a farm in rural Vernon Township where they loved to garden and tend to their horses. Icy loved to write poetry and sketch, and George loved music. After Icy passed away, George moved to a nursing home, where he was often entertained by local high school students who came to sing and dance for the residents. Because the Vaughns wanted others to be able to share their appreciation of the performing arts, they established a scholarship fund with the Hancock County Community Foundation to recognize the youth in Hancock County who enrich our lives.
