The Hancock County Community Foundation awarded a $2,808.36 technology grant last fall from HCCF’s Enrichment Fund, a Spirit of Community Fund, to KidsPlay, Inc. The grant was applied to the purchase of a digital copier to fit the group’s growing marketing needs. KidsPlay, Inc. is a local non-profit children’s theatre group offering children in grades 3 through 8 in Hancock County and the surrounding area the opportunity to learn theatre and drama during the summer. Since, 1998 over 600 youth have participated in KidsPlay, Inc. productions in front of more than 3,500 audience members. The organization normally puts on two three-show productions each summer.
The Hancock County Enrichment Fund is a member of the Spirit of Community Funds family at HCCF. Created by the Community Foundation, it is a permanent, comprehensive fund that addresses a broad range of needs, including future needs that often cannot be anticipated at the time a gift is made.
2012 marks the Community Foundation’s celebration of working with caring individuals, families, and organizations for 20 years. Our mission is to create or grow existing permanent funds called endowments. These funds generate income that is distributed in the form of grants and scholarships to enrich and enhance life in Hancock County, as well as support the donor’s favorite charitable causes, both at home and afar forever. HCCF has granted over $8 million since its inception in 1992.
