Hancock County, IN – On July 24, 2012, the Hancock County Community Foundation and 11 local nonprofit organizations hope that everyone will visit givehcgrowhc.org or the Community Foundation office for Match Day, the first of its kind 24-hour event in Central Indiana designed to raise awareness and funds for needs in the Hancock County community.
Each gift made on July 24, 2012 will be proportionately matched. HCCF has committed $33,000 of its 2012 Enrichment Fund grant pool to proportionally match donations made from the community during that 24 hour period. Organizations that receive gifts from 100 or more unique donors will receive an additional $250 from the Community Foundation.
“Match Day is a unique event that encourages the community to embrace the work of eleven organizations, all of whom strengthen Hancock County by delivering vital programs to our citizens”, says Mary Gibble, President of the Hancock County Community Foundation. “HCCF is excited to create a fun way to encourage giving during a 24 hour period on July 24th, not only through our gift matching incentive, but by hosting a festive community event!”
HCCF hopes that people will connect with new causes and programs that they may not have been aware of before Match Day. “Anyone can participate with a minimum of $10. Everyone can give back to this community.”
Presented by Hancock County Community Foundation. 2012 marks the Community Foundation’s celebration of working with caring individuals, families, and organizations for 20 years. Our mission is to create or grow existing permanent funds called endowments. These funds generate income that is distributed in the form of grants and scholarships to enrich and enhance life in Hancock County, as well as support the donor’s favorite charitable causes, both at home and afar forever. HCCF has granted over $8 million since its inception in 1992.
