As a result of the 2011 Birthday Celebration, HCCF received a contribution of coins for the Hancock County Enrichment Fund from Mt. Vernon Middle School Students.
Their $64.72 gift is the perfect example of how people of all ages and means can invest in the future of our great county. Students made the gift when celebrating Hancock County’s 183rd Birthday.
“I didn’t even know Hancock County had a flag and I never really thought about it having a birthday! Learning more about our county helped me understand how important it is to make sure it will be here for my own kids someday,” exclaimed an enthusiastic MVMS student. The gift of $64.72 was invested permanently with those of others and the income generated will help provide grants to Hancock County organizations in the future.
